For the second successive year, Lambert Park has been chosen to host the 2018 TAFE NSW Waratah Cup Final on Saturday 14th of July at 4pm between reigning Cup Champions Hakoah Sydney City East and APIA Leichhardt Tigers.
A replay of the 2017 Cup Final, APIA Leichhardt Tigers will be seeking revenge from its 3-1 loss to their Eastern Suburbs counterparts as Billy McColl’s men go in search for that elusive piece of silverware.
Gavin Rae’s Hakoah side will by no means be a pushover however.
Known for turning it on in Cup matches, the likes of stars such as Kiwi International Andre De Jong, the ever-reliable Mitchell Stamatellis, star keeper Anthony Bouzanis and lethal attacker Anthony Frangie will be out to spoil the Tigers party at their spiritual home once more.
The wily Tigers do boost an ultra-impressive line-up in the shape of the competition’s current Golden Boot leader Jordan Murray who has formed a deadly partnership with Japanese import Tasuku Sekiya as well as 2017 Player of the Year midfielder Sean Symons.
The back drop of the iconic Lambert Park will provide a perfect setting in what will once again be an enthralling Cup Final fought out between two highly competitive teams.
